There is more oil under the Rocky Mountains than all of the other oil reserves in the world.

The only problem is it's not liquid yet. It is trapped in oil shale rock that needs more pressure and heat to turn it into liquid crude oil.

However modern technology has come up with a way to heat the ground and pump the liquid oil to the surface.

This is more friendly to the environment than digging up the rock and processing it on the surface.

Shale oil extraction is already used by China, and Sand Shale oil production has been increasing in Canada.

Shale oil extraction will become a reality in an area known as Piceance Basin, part of the Green River formation in Colorado and Wyoming.

Rocky mountain oil will help break Americas addiction to foreign oil and is economical to produce at todays oil prices.
